Ruth Rhodes

Ruth Rhodes is polygenerous, writing poetry, plays, novels, comic books, and essays. Her memoir of a naked run in Alaska earned her a nomination for a Pushcart Prize (Permanent Vacation, Bona Fide Books, 2011).

A former Peace Corps Volunteer (Kenya, 95-97) and National Park Service Ranger, Ruth has made her home in northern California since 2003. She has four children, two dogs, and a restless spirit.

To earn her living, she teaches English and creative writing at the College of the Redwoods. To soothe her soul, she drinks copious amounts of tea and keeps a backpack ready by the door in case adventure comes knocking.
