Misael Juarez creates rhyme structures and stanzas to convey revolutionary dreams. By spending time to live experiences such as schizophrenia and psychosis, Misael has learn to write to create a balance with what appears to be otherworldly and our socioeconomic reality. He represents a rare minority in literature as he grew up with graffiti and gang experiences along with a single mother and was the 3rd born from 8 siblings.
Misael majored in English at the California State University of Los Angeles. Though he never finished his degree, he kept on writing and transferring his genius unto the page.
Misael Juarez takes on the challenge to be a writer who experiences psychosis, he is also a voice for the streets. He is from a world of literary arts and hip hop fusing with the auditory and visual hallucinations stemming from schizophrenia. He has worked with many at risk youth from detention centers to high school and incoming university freshman. Misael aims at being a poet and scholar of schizophrenia. He will continue to write poetry and letters to paint a broader picture of mental health as an advocate.
