Hello! I’m Bart L. Tilton, a storyteller at heart, weaving together threads of history, faith, and the incredible resilience of the human spirit into my stories. I grew up in a family with a rich history, like those of shepherds wandering vast plains of Scotland, and ancestors tracing back to medieval England, including the mysterious Almarus de Digby from 12th-century Leicester. My childhood was a wild adventure, shaped by the rhythms of rural farm and ranch life and the echoes of stories waiting to be told.
Life has taken me on quite a ride, from military service—which inspired my fictional memoir about the resilient Ryan Thompson—to discovering the power of writing as both an escape and a means of reclaiming my narrative. My latest novel, Whispers of Resistance, plunges readers into a gripping end-times saga set against the stunning backdrop of the American West, where the shadows of authority loom over a fractured community on the brink of upheaval. I draw inspiration from the trials of life as a corrections teacher and life in general.
When I’m not lost in my research or crafting vibrant characters like the curly-haired Elli, who bravely tackles snowy trails with her freckled determination, I cherish quiet moments of solitude—hiking forgotten paths or diving into my family’s lore. As a devoted sibling and seeker of truth, I write to honor the past and shine a light on the soul’s quiet battles. With roots in the Tilton lineage and a voice shaped by personal trials, my books invite you to confront life’s storms and emerge stronger.
