Deidra Whitt Lovegren

Deidra has been making up stories for as long as she can remember. She has written and published over one hundred short stories and regularly competes in international writing contests.

Deidra’s novel The Medicine Girl debuted in July 2022. The sequel, The Medicine Woman, was released in August 2023. She has published several novellas including 21 Conversations, a collection of dialogue-only stories.

Over her long teaching career, she has taught scores of English classes to students from preschool to college. Currently, she is a humanities instructor at a private school in Virginia.

Deidra co-hosts “Read Lots Write Lots,” a podcast featuring writers from around the world with her Australian co-host, Russell Norman. In addition, she is a contest judge for Reedsy Prompts based in the United Kingdom.

She is also an engaging conference speaker who loves to share her knowledge about the writer’s craft.

She currently lives in Virginia with her family and her rescue cat, General Sherman.
