Jonathan Geltner was born in Eastern Massachusetts but grew up mainly in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied English, Classics and French at the University of Cincinnati, pursued graduate work in English at the University of Chicago, and earned an MFA in fiction from Warren Wilson College. He is the translator of Paul Claudel’s Five Great Odes (Angelico Press in 2020) and author of Absolute Music, a novel (Slant Books 2022). His present work is a quest for re-enchantment through the study of a variety of authors and places.
Jonathan is an avid cyclist and student of Tai Chi, as well as an amateur philologist with a penchant for Irish, Hawaiian, Hebrew and Classical Chinese. He lives in southeastern Michigan with his wife and young children.
