I am a retired consultant physician. Aged 6 to 11, I was a child in London throughout the war, and experienced the terrors of the Blitz, the V-bombs and the general events of the war. All this is described in Memories Of A Wartime Childhood in London. Before taking up medicine, I spent ten years as a cadet and then ship's officer on large passenger and cargo ships, and visited many parts of the world, hence My Friend The Sea. In retirement, I live in Westminster with my wife Jillie. Although I am now aged 90, I still enjoy going to the gym, riding my electric bike about London, and short hikes in the countryside surrounding the great city in which I live.
