I'm a photographer and artist at heart, but my parents always told me my writing was better than my photography... and they love my photography. Born and raised in Georgia, I’m a traveler, an artist, and a storyteller. I live in the North Georgia mountains with two dogs, four cats and whatever else lives out in these woods.
I published my first book, I know in my Heart, in 2022. It's a children's picture book for kids in Kindergarten through third grade. It's a hit with children and adults alike, full of colorful illustrations and poignant life lessons. My next children's book will be a companion book to "I know in my heart"... and I've already begun work on it!
In 2025, I published my first novel titled, Union County Fall, through Raventhorne Books. It fits into their popular October Fall world about a post-apocalyptic America. It’s subtitled Legacy: America in reference to my new documentary series of the same name.
In my documentary film series, I travel the country telling stories of our nation's yesteryear through my camera lens. My journey highlights the people and places that pioneered the American frontier as I explore how so many of these historical endeavors, synonymous with defining our nation's identity, have vanished.
In my book, Union County Fall, the main characters are in Arizona filming an episode for their documentary series (Legacy: America) when an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) shuts down the U.S. electrical grid and sends the country into chaos. They have to race back to Georgia to rescue their families and escape to safety at their cabin in the North Georgia mountains.
It’s a work of fiction with a lot of real-life detail based on my own life and experience.
Here’s a little side note: I’ve written articles and essays in the past and have always hated re-reading them during the editing process. I got tired of my own words. However, I can’t put Union County Fall down! I’ve read it seven times from beginning to end and still laugh, cry, and cheer in all the same places. It never gets old and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
