Karen Langtree

I began my working life as a Primary School teacher, and as well as my Author work, I teach piano and singing!

I love writing books and a passion is working in schools, doing Author visits, where I believe I can inspire the creative side of children. To see them writing, reading and playing music is such an amazing thrill, especially if through my involvement.

I have also written materials for the Archbishop of York's Trust, for their Leadership programme for Key Stage 1 pupils. The core values written in are complementary to the National Curriculum guidelines. It is amazing to think my creation is in schools across the country.

My books and musicals are sold internationally...as far flung as Australia, Singapore and South Africa.

One of my titles is translated into Turkish, and at the time of creating this profile, the rights to a new book, called Santa's Dreams are being bought by a New York publisher to be promoted across the USA! Also, a Greek publisher wants to translate two of my titles into Greek!
