John Hazard is a Brooklyn, NY based cartoonist, illustrator, animator and comic art teacher. He created art and animation for Nick.com, one of the most popular websites for kids in the world. While there he was animation director for the first season of the Nickelodeon TV show "Romeo!" and he designed and animated the avatars for NIck's award winning virtual world and gaming site, Nicktropolis. He then went on to teach comic art at The Kubert School, the only fully accredited school for comic book art in the world. He's also illustrated children's books, educational comics, a weekly newspaper comic strip, and storyboards and pitch art for advertising agencies.
He is reviving his first webcomic, Frankenstein Superstar, which is about The Monster and his Bride making their way in a modern New York populated by superheroes, celebrities and monsters.
His main artistic project is Background Noise, a diary comic he draws and co-writes with is life partner Lisa Burdige. It has over 27,000 followers on Instagram and can also be read on Webtoon and Medium. They are currently collecting the first year of comics into a book and seeking an agent.
