Uttam Mukherjee

Uttam Mukherjee became a writer by accident. In the later years of his life, when he had some free time, he authored a Bengali crime novel that received quick recognition from many well-read individuals.

He finally decided to go for it, and five more of his novels were published in three years. The desire to reach a wider audience led him to publish novels in English. His first crime thriller in English, “The Mystery of the Genes,” was published in 2022. His next crime novel, ‘Devils of Dubai’, was published in 2023. In 2025, his third and final novel in the Corporate Crime Trilogy, "Corporate Vs Corporate," was released. The books have been well received by readers across the country.

He is a Chartered Accountant and has held positions such as Vice President, and Director—Finance in large corporations. Besides having an interest in billiards and swimming, he enjoys travelling and has been to nearly every tourist attraction in India, as well as a number of countries on several continents. He now lives in Kolkata with his family.
