Jefferson R. Blackburn-Smith
Jefferson, the second of four boys, was raised in rural Ohio. He and his brothers were the original free-range children, raising horses, reading obsessively, and hiking the farmland around their home, guns at the ready, hunting anything in season and varmits all year long. Jefferson met his wife Denise in Quebec City, fifteen hundred miles from their homes, when he was seventeen. He and Denis have three grown children, two Boston Terriers and a grumpy, old retriever inherited from his father. Jefferson is the vice president of enrollment management and marketing at Otterbein university and has worked in enrollment management for 27 years. Prior to that he taught college composition, worked as a telemarketer, sales manager and a materials expediter, a construction superintendent, and a vice president of marketing.
