Lin Gentry

On the front lines of the important social movements of the 50s, 60s and 70s, Lin Gentry ultimately crashed the glass ceiling of becoming the first woman firefighter in Oakland, California in 1980.

Lin was born and raised in Oakland, and with the exception of spells residing in Manhattan, Mexico City, and central Washington state, she remains a proud denizen of Oakland where she lives today with her Golden Retriever Duffy.
