Dr. A. Yvette Myrick’s career in adult education and higher education has spanned more than 30 years. She has served in multiple roles in adult education and higher education, alternating between teaching and administrator positions. Her primary areas of specialty in higher education are student retention and professional development for educators. She has presented at conferences throughout the United States and outside the United States (England and Barbados) on topics such as career development, effective retention strategies, learner engagement, and online learning. She co-hosts with her co-author, Dr. Estelle Young, the engaging, informational podcast, Thriving in Higher Education.
She also has a partnership with her co-author, Dr. Estelle Young, in a grant writing for nonprofits business, Capacity+. She holds degrees from the University of Baltimore (BS in Business Administration), Coppin State University (MS in Adult and Continuing Education), and The George Washington University (EdD in Higher Education Administration). A. Yvette enjoys listening to a variety of music genres, from gospel to classic rock.
