Marek Z. Turner is a UK-based author of crime fiction and international thrillers. His stories combine fast-paced storytelling with crime, suspense and a distinctly global outlook.
He is a member of the Crime Writers Association (CWA), and he was a finalist in the 2021 Amazon/Capital Crime New Voices Award. Marek was also shortlisted for Black Spring Press’ 2024 ‘Crimebits’ competition, judged by Lee Child.
His work includes the Italy-based noir The Eighth Hill (2023), and the comedic-crime short story collection Born To Lose: Tales of Gigi (2025), as well as the Devon-based, dark comic noir The Reluctant Gardener.
He has also had short fiction appear through the Crime Writers’ Association, Punk Noir, The Yard and Urban Pigs Press, and his wider writing has featured in 88 Films, Aspects of Crime, Diabolique Magazine, Scream Magazine and Tetrovideo, among others.
When he isn’t writing about the darker side of the world, Marek can usually be found with a black coffee in hand and reading about organised crime.
