Profile:

Rob is an experienced leadership and executive development specialist with an MBA and nearly 30 years’ experience of Organisation Development (OD). In the last 25 years, the principal focus of his work has been improving business performance at individual, team and organisation levels. In particular, he has specialised in working with senior management teams to develop strategy within the context of major organisational and cultural change. This has ranged from small,

targeted interventions with CEOs and top teams as well as leading large-scale consultancy assignments and international roll-outs of major business transformation projects.

Rob is the founder and Managing Partner of Townsend James Partnership – a leadership and strategy development consultancy established in 2003. Since 2008 he has also been a Programme Director at London Business School (LBS) designing and delivering leadership programmes for a wide range of international clients. As both an enthusiast and a practitioner of ‘business experimentation’, he has supported more than 800 leaders in over 40 countries to foster more innovative approaches to business development and value-creation. His book on the subject was published by Kogan Page in 2021.

Before establishing his own business, Rob was Head of Consultancy at OPP, one of Europe’s leading organisation development consultancies specialising in behavioural change. He is accredited in a wide range of psychometric tools and also operates as an Executive Coach. Prior to joining OPP, Rob held a senior management role in executive education at PwC working internationally with top tier clients.
