George Farenden

I joined the Fire Service at the age of twenty-one following my father into the Fire Service. Shortly after I joined, my father was injured in a large warehouse fire in a the city and was pensioned off due to the injury. I fought fires for thirty years mostly in the inner city, rising to the rank of Station Officer at Birmingham’s biggest and busiest Fire Station, A1 Central.

On retiring from the fire Service, I was never far from Firefighters or Firefighting as I then became an emergency response consultant for DuPont de Nemours, Geneva. After fourteen years with DuPont. I finally retired and now live in Somerset making cider with my wife Jane and our dog Coco.

During lockdown I wrote this my first novel Jack Wolf, ‘The Recruit’ which is currently being published by Austin Macauley Publishers. Jack Wolf ‘The Fireman’ is the second in the series. (No publisher, as yet) and the third book is underway.
