Joe Stumpf

MY NAME IS JOE STUMPF. In the world of business, I own one of the country's most prominent business and life coaching companies. I am privileged to work with some of the most successful entrepreneurs and business people every day. As a coach, I guide people through the four growth phases Survival to Stability, Stability to Success, and Success to Significance.

I have witnessed thousands of men and women go through these stages, yet the stage from Success to Significance seems to be reserved for only the few that dare to reinvent themselves after they have achieved worldly success. Making money and accumulating power and prestige is a matter of drive, determination, intelligent strategic direction, and being at the right place at the right time," taking advantage of the opportunities as they present themselves.

The more elusive stage of growth is Significance because it seems to invite us into a way of being that requires an entirely different awareness. When we get to that place and are ready to make the shift, we discover what got us here won't get us there.

I became fascinated with the idea of growing my self-awareness and getting stronger and better mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally after my father's death. My dad was born after the Depression. His father died when he was 10 years old. He was raised by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to raise her three sons. His life was not easy, and he endured many hardships.

Nevertheless, he became a very successful entrepreneur and worked all the time. He retired at the age of 60; he died at 63 in a state of isolation and despair. His death served as my wake-up call because I was on a similar path and realized that I had a chance to finish my life strong by choice. His life served as a lesson in what to do and what not to do.

Since then, I have paid close attention to men and women who are successful by society's standards. I have observed that people who become successful make a conscious or unconscious choice about how to live their life after success has been achieved.

Through my work, I've noticed that the choice is either Generatively or Stagnation. By being generative, you develop a sense of being part of the bigger picture. Significance at this stage gives you a feeling of meaningful usefulness.

Meaningful usefulness comes from introspecting daily and asking deep questions about who you are and what contribution you can make to the world with wisdom and awareness. PrivateWork Self Coaching, The Art and Science of Cultivating Insighfulness, invites you to engage in a proven process of introspection.

Our world is in great need of wisdom which is a product of insightfulness.

On the other hand, if we fail to do the deeper introspection work, it can lead to Stagnation which is a more shallow way of involvement in the world. You can become stagnant, self-absorbed, unproductive and eventually apathetic. Stagnation occurs when we feel our life and wisdom are wasted; ultimately, our life is empty and lacking meaning. So I created PrivateWork.com to help guide people from Success to Significance.

All it takes is the willingness to invest 10 minutes a day, 4 or 5 times a week, to do the introspection work required to expand self-awareness to its fullest significant potential.

I invite you to join me at privatework.com, and let's walk the path from success to Significance together. I'll see you at PrivateWork.com
