Nigel Betts

Nigel Betts was born and raised in Northamptonshire, England. He began writing in 2022, with his first publication ‘Blood, Sweat and Gears - a memoir.’

He spent over 30 years working in the high stress environment of the Motor Sport Industry, including 26 years in the very pinnacle of the sport, Formula One, in 2019, he would suffer a monumental midlife crisis.

To combat this mental and physical crisis, and his mounting disaffection with the modern way of working and living, he set out to make radical and lasting change, by leaving work, and sinking the family’s life savings into becoming a full time vehicle based overlander and author.

Married, with one son, he now lives at the side of the road, in a rooftop tent above a Land Rover Defender 130, unless the weather is particularly terrible, then you will find him scrounging a bed from one old friend or another.
