Marileta Robinson began writing for children in the 1980s, when her own children were lap-sitters. Her first book, Mr. Goat’s Bad Good Idea, grew from her adventures living on the Navajo reservation in Rough Rock, AZ. Her stories have appeared in Highlights, Cricket, and other children’s magazines. In 1988, she joined the staff of Highlights as an editor. She wrote "The Timbertoes" and “The Adventures of Spot” for several years, collaborating with illustrator Ron Zalme. THE TOE SNATCHERS is their first book together.
