William Fernandes

William Fernandes is a novelist, playwright, musician, and psychoanalyst. He was born in São Paulo and currently resides in Germany on a small farm in the Saxon countryside.

With numerous plays published and staged over the course of his career, Fernandes has gained recognition as a playwright and has received several accolades, including the Myriam Muniz Theatre Award, the Petrobrás Award, and the SESC National Award. He made his debut as a novelist in 2016 with the publication of the book Estímulos.

As he continues to write and to explore the depths of psychoanalysis, he comes to perceive a growing similarity between the two activities. In both cases, there is an opportunity for unconscious desires to find a form of expression.
