David Proudlove

Dave Proudlove is the author of Ballad of the Streets, The Streets of My Hometown, When the Circus Leaves Town: What Happens When Football Leaves Home, Work and Play: The Industrial Roots of English Football, A Mother Town Anthology, and Street Football: The Real Grassroots of the Beautiful Game. He wrote a weekly column for the North Staffordshire daily newspaper the Sentinel and contributed to its sister publication the Way We Were. Dave was also a regular contributor to the Stoke City fanzine Duck, and online magazine Football Bloody Hell. He currently contributes to Football Heritage, and regularly collaborates with artists and other writers. Dave's work has also appeared in Tribune and the Birmingham Dispatch.
