I am a 75 year old Yorkshireman living in exile in South Gloucestershire. Married to Eveline for over fifty years we have two brilliant daughters, Eleanor and Jessica and three wonderful grandchildren, E.J., Willow and Nora. They live in Limerick and Bantry Bay in Ireland and together provided me with the inspiration to get a novel published after 60 years of starting.

I support Rotherham United, Yorkshire cricket and once ran marathons, one in California whilst working as an exchange teacher in Sacramento and the other in Yorkshire. Cancer and laziness prevent anymore marathons.

I love the writing of, Tim Murgatroyd, Alexander McCall Smith and Larry McMurtry but my first loves were always Henry Treece and Rosemary Sutcliffe.

'Secrets, Lies and Rhubarb Pies' was my first novel and I have completed a sequel, 'Secrets, Lies and Two Leg Byes'. and Secrets Lies and Seagull Cries, the last of the Wath Mill Allotments trilogy. A fourth book a mystery quest about college friends, Let Sleeping Secrets Lie followed and the latest 'Jenny Clutterbuck: Reluctant Traveller in Time' moved into a new genre. At this stage I realised that I was addicted to writing and deeply regret not starting earlier in life. I may even have become a better writer by now if I had.
