Robert Warren (b.1951) became a Christian in 1972 after reading a Gideon’s Bible in the YMCA (Montreal Canada). He was later to graduate from Faith Bible College (New Zealand) and served on short term mission trips into Tonga and Fiji.
Rob has travelled throughout Australia and the South Pacific region promoting the concept of National Forgiveness Week (NFW) which has been held in Fiji, Vanuatu and Arnhem Land (NT Australia). In 2004 the inaugural National Forgiveness Week (as mentioned in the Transformations series - Let the Seas Resound) was held in Fiji. The Prime Minister endorsed the idea, and it became an annual government-sponsored event. NFW has also been held in Vanuatu and Arnhem Land and is planned for the emerging nation - Bougainville.
He is a board member governing Partners in Prayer and Evangelism Pty Ltd (PIPES), managing Australia Prays and National Forgiveness Week.
Rob’s professional career as a chemist has spanned the pharmaceutical and natural product industries, where he has been involved in technical management, marine research, quality assurance, consulting and government. He has authored numerous scientific and technical papers including a co-authored book with the CSIRO entitled Eucalyptus Leaf Oils. He worked briefly as a researcher with the Australian Geographic magazine where he wrote short scientific news articles. Rob also wrote regularly for Alive magazine, Australia’s premier Christian publication.
He has authored five Christian books … Summer Showers & Cactus Flowers [Christian poetry and song], From Here to Kingdom Come [a book for every Christian who has sighed and said, ‘There must be more’], Satan’s Final Days [new perspectives on the Last Days], When Angry Hearts Forgive [The wonders of Heartfelt forgiveness] and Our Maker’s Master Plan [science and Scripture meet around the topic of Creation].
With his beloved wife Helen they reside in Sydney, Australia. They have two adult children … Anna, who is married to Tim Cotton; and Tim, who is married to Keasi (nee Kupu). They have five wonderful grandchildren, namely Amaryah, Ace, Harper, Faith and Selah. Their family continues to be a source of great joy to them both.
