Pat Collins is a general assignment reporter for News4, a Washington, DC native covering breaking news and feature reports.
He began his career as a print journalist, first for the Washington Daily News and later for The Washington Star. Pat began writing for newspapers at the age of 15, and, by the age of 17, he was a St. John's High School student with a column in The Daily News.
At the University of Notre Dame, he was editor of the student newspaper The Observer. After graduating in 1968, Pat spent a year in Vietnam. He and his wife live in Washington, D.C.
In 1986, Pat joined NBC News4. Prior to that, he worked for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. and ABC Channel 7 in Chicago, IL. He also spent several years as a general assignment, investigative and feature reporter for WDVM-TV (now WUSA-TV) in Washington, D.C.
His honors include ten Emmy Awards, two Clarion Awards, and a Chesapeake Associated Press Award for "Best Feature Reporter".
Pat was inducted into The Silver Circle by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his more than 25 years of television service in Washington, D.C.
