Don was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., in 1954.
In 1985 he self-published his first children's book, "Ogopogo the Misunderstood Lake Monster." It has sold more than 30,000 copies.
In 2016 Don published his first novel, inspired by actual events.
The Vancouver public library recognized Don as an up-and-coming Indie author for his book Loot for the Taking.
In June 2019, Don headed to Normandy, France, to see where his father had landed on Juno Beach on D-Day 1944.
Don's new book Our Fathers' Footsteps is the result of conversations, interviews and hours of research Don conducted during and after his trip to France.
Don was honoured to be invited to present his new book to the Royal Canadian Military Institute to talk about his new book in August 2022.
Don and his wife currently live outside Edmonton, Alberta.
