Marcílio de Freitas is a retired professor of the Federal University of Amazonas, Brazil. He was State Secretary of Science and Technology at the State of Amazonas, Brazil, between 2007 and 2010. Marcílio has published books and scientific articles on science education, philosophy, sociology of sciences, environmental physics, and policies of development in Brazilian Amazonia.
