Darnell Sonny Turner

Darnell Sonny Turner is a native of New York and one of nine children. Pastor turner accepted Jesus Christ as her personal lord and savior, was baptized, and received the gift of the holy ghost at the tender age of ten. As a youth, pastor turner served on the usher board, served as a jr. Missionary served in the music ministry and was the director of the Liston Page power ensemble youth choir at the greater highway deliverance temple, under the leadership of presiding prelate, bishop Liston Page Sr. Pastor Turner continued to serve faithfully alongside her parents, senior pastor, and northern district mother, Catherine Jackson, and elder Roosevelt Jackson, when her parents launched, I Am My Brother’s Keeper Evangelistic Temple Ministries, in Queens, New York. She also served in her community by forming a community choir. After being found faithful, Pastor Turner was consecrated into the office of Evangelist and then several years later into the role of Co-Pastor by the laying on of hands by her then Presiding Prelate, Bishop, Liston Page, Sr. She also served as the Northern District Executive Secretary until her relocation to North Carolina.

After relocating to North Carolina, Pastor Turner faithfully served at Kingdom Harvest Bibleway Church, from 2013, under the leadership of the late Bishop Stanley Pettice, until the launch of Salt of The Earth Global Outreach Ministries, Inc. While a member at The Harvest, Pastor Turner served on the leadership team, in the women’s, music, youth and singles ministries. Pastor Turner is an anointed teacher, preacher, psalmist, and prayer intercessor. She is a gifted songwriter, workshop facilitator, advocate, and educator - it’s no surprise, pastor turner is well favored by young and old.

Pastor Turner and her husband are the founders of Salt of The Earth Outreach Global Ministries, Inc., which launched in the spring of 2021 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to sharing the good news and love of Jesus Christ to win the lost, together along with their ministerial team, Pastor Turner assists families in crisis by linking them to resources in the community to assist with obtaining affordable housing, access to food pantries, clothing closets, vocational training, peer mentoring and support groups.

Pastor Turner is a certified Chaplain. She earned a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Nyack College, attended The Alliance Theological Seminary to study Spiritual Formation and earned an associate in Occupational Studies. She maintained a perfect 4.0 average while attending Fordham University to study Child Psychology and Child Developmental Disabilities. Pastor Turner was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in theology, from Anointed by God Alliance Theological Seminary, where the president is Bishop Alfred Phillips. Pastor Turner is certified in various areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health services. She is a recipient of the Women of Power and Distinction award from The Greater Highway Deliverance Temple Ministries, Inc.

Pastor Turner served as an educator with the New York city department of education for over 6 years, before transitioning to the role of Case Manager, where she served in this capacity for over 13 years. She is the owner and CEO of Sonnie’s Creations gift boutique and Sonnie’s Selections & Designs, an online fashion & gift boutique.

God has blessed pastor sonny turner with a covering, a life and ministry partner, as well as an amazing friend in that of her loving husband, Richard Victor Theodore Turner. Pastor Turner is the proud mother of four exceptional children: her daughter Tanzania and sons, Danny, Malachi, and Eli.
