Prior to her teaching endeavors, she served for six years with the United States Air Force Reserves and traveled from Texas, to Massachusetts, to the Philippines and was discharged from Norton AFB, CA in 1981. She was married to William Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee and was inspired to write this book in order to leave a legacy for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her wish is that they will become interested in learning about their family history and will know how their grandmother and great-grandmother acquired her knowledge and reached her dreams even though sometimes her rose bushes were filled with thorns. I just want them to all know that once the thorns disappear, you will have a lovely rose bush to enjoy every day.
