Kate Bartlein is passionate about books that capture a young reader's imagination and that use play as a platform for understanding complex concepts. She has been working in the children's mental health space since graduating high school and has used her background in psychology and certifications in Greenspan's Floortime and Shanker Self-Reg to connect with children and families in a variety of settings. Kate has been writing and imagining stories since early childhood and felt the drive to publish her first book, Lennon Bruce Fire Breather, around the time her oldest child was diagnosed with autism. Shortly after learning her son was autistic, Kate was diagnosed with ADHD. Kate felt compelled to create stories that would both engage her son and that she wished she would have been able to read while growing up. Her goal is to write books that parents, teachers, and therapists will want to use to introduce their kids to themes around mental health and neurodiversity AND that kids will love.
