After spending my youth working a variety of jobs varying from hi-fi salesman to photographic darkroom technician to cleaning industrial robots. I settled into working on Britains railways. Where I’ve spent the last 20 years in various roles. If you’ve been a regular on the Midland Mainline M1 corridor route from Sheffield to London from 2014-17. You’ll know me as “Sebastian the Train Manager” from my rather laconic and sarcastic train announcements. Which attracted somewhat of a cult following on social media. I get the feeling the public enjoyed them far more than my employer did.

My debut novel Martin Martin & The Death Express was originally intended as a satire on the failure of railway privatisation. However with the cost of living crisis now upon us. The idea of a private company, asset stripping its customers while an inept and incompetent government looks on, seems less fantastical by the day.

At it’s heart the book is a satirical action thriller with a fruity cast and a knowing wink to the reader. It’s a love letter to my staying up late with my older siblings to watch things on late night TV I really shouldn’t have.

I’m currently working on the follow up to Martin Martin & The Death Express. As well as a stand alone thriller.
