B. G. White is a scholar of the New Testament with interests in Paul, modern theology, the 'rise' of early Christianity, and the relationship between historical and theological interpretation. After several years of teaching at institutions in New York City, he was Visiting Fellow at Yale Divinity School and then Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Divinity School.
He is currently a part-time faculty member at Boston College and an adjunct professor at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He holds the Ph.D. from Durham University, where he studied with Lightfoot Professor of Divinity, John M.G. Barclay, FBA.
His first book, a lightly revised version of his doctoral thesis, is entitled Pain and Paradox in 2 Corinthians: The Transformative Function of Strength in Weakness (Mohr Siebeck, 2021). It was the subject of a review panel at the 2022 British New Testament Conference and a revised version for practitioners and students is forthcoming with Inter-Varsity Press Academic.
White's writing for public audiences has appeared in print with the Boston Globe and Philadelphia Inquirer as well as major Christian periodicals such as Christianity Today and the Christian Century.
