Dinah Mason Eagers

Hi, I'm Dinah! I love gardens, wildlife, and writing. My books combine my passion for all three, and allow me to share that passion and engagement with children of all ages.

An English Literature graduate who has spent much of my working life in various capacities within schools, including as a Librarian and as a Teaching Assistant, I have always had a passion for reading and for encouraging children to read. Fun fact: I was once a Boarding Housemistress at Embley Park School, and had the enormous privilege of living in Florence Nightingale's old family home.

During this time (twenty years ago) my father in law Dudley, a conservationist, was, among other things, turning his garden into a wildflower meadow and building a garden pond. And that is where my inspiration for the ‘Dudley’s Garden’ series originated. I thought writing these books would be a wonderful homage to my love of reading and the passion for conservation which Dudley inspired, and which is becoming increasingly relevant and urgent.

I have been extremely fortunate to be able to team up with the wonderfully talented Illustrator Anna Platts who has so beautifully brought my stories to life.
