Sanjay Chandra

Sanjay Chandra, founder of Kala – Krazy About Literature And Arts, is an author, speaker, coach, arbitrator, and strategy consultant. A former Indian Railway Services officer, he has since transitioned into the creative and literary space. He conducts workshops on creative writing for young adults and corporate executives, and writes regularly for The Pioneer and occasionally for The Hindu.

Kala is a movement that celebrates authors and artists whose work inspires, transforms, and redefines contemporary thought, with the aim of fostering a lasting engagement with literature and the arts as part of community life. Kala showcases authors and artists through Literature Awards and Literature Festivals, features authors and artists on its virtual platform The Show, engages with young students through literature and expression initiatives, brings out theme-based anthologies, and runs community-driven Kala Literature Clubs.

Sanjay Chandra has published three full-length books: Behind Closed Doors (murder mystery, 2023), The Gymnast (contemporary fiction, 2022), and The Life and Times of a Common Man (memoir, 2019). His short stories The Surgeon, A Level Playing Field, and The Scent of New Life, have appeared in the anthologies The Little White Book of Stories, Vol. 1, Playground Stories, and Light of Spring, respectively.
