Gem Moran

Gem Moran is a horror lover, chinchilla owner, author and award winning artist from the North East of England.

Becoming a freelance artist in 2014 after leaving her office job of ten years, Gem's repertoire of work is extremely varied and somewhat unusual. She prides herself in in creating works that she enjoys and expresses her personality. These works vary from horror movie portraits to needle felted animals with googley eyes!

One of Gem's biggest influences are her chinchillas, Nacho and Noodles. She noticed very quickly that the dynamic duo were a funny and entertaining force of nature, and decided to incorporate this into series known as 'Cheeky Chins' - a fortnightly comic documenting the everyday life of owning a chinchilla.

Much to her surprise, Cheeky Chins catapulted in popularity, leading to the release of numerous books and a whole host of merchandise!

Chinchilla lovers from all over the world have expressed their adoration for this funny and cute little comic, for which Gem is sincerely grateful! And with her two little fluffy muses keeping her entertained, there'll be plenty more to come!
