Gareth M. Winrow

Born in Bolton, UK, Gareth's previous life involved working as an academic and consultant specialising on Turkish politics and energy security issues. Returning back to the UK after working and living for 20 years in Istanbul, he has lately reinvented himself and has become an author of social, local and family history. He is the author of 'Whispers Across Continents: In Search of the Robinsons' (Amberley, 2019), which focuses on the lives of an extraordinary family who lived in the UK, India, the Ottoman Empire, the US and Germany. His forthcoming book - 'The Butcher, The Tailor, The Picture-Frame Maker...Stories of Middle Way' (The Book Guild) - looks at the fascinating lives of people who owned/occupied the land/property where Gareth now lives in Summertown, Oxford. He lives on Middle Way in Summertown with his wife and two cats.
