I am a retired Senior Lecturer in Social Work and Health and Social Care. Having joined the Royal Navy as a young man in 1970, he spent his formative years as a Marine Engineering Mechanic. After leaving Her Majesties Forces, he began working with the disadvantaged, primarily within the voluntary sector and then worked for a Local Authority, where he trained formally as a Social Worker. After working for many years with children and young people, he then worked as a generic social worker before moving into working with people who were infected and affected by HIV. Following this, Graham gained several academic qualifications before moving into Higher Education where he taught for 18 years. I have authored academic articles, but this is his first self-directed book. His first book, 'Ships, Trips, and Rites of Passage: A Sailor's Tale' is a memoir of his time in the Royal Navy as a naval rating. I have also authored a novel, entitled, 'The Pink War', which he hopes that will be published sometime during 2023.
