Liz King is a mom and “Granma” (no “d”) who has resided in Allen, Texas since the mid 1980’s. Considering herself to be “semi-retired,” Liz currently works part time for the Allen Independent School District as a Crossing Guard.
The Christmas Star That Found Its Light is Liz’s first publication. When asked what motivated Liz to write and publish her first children’s book at the age of 67, she shared that this particular story idea came to her decades ago when her two boys were very young. Every night, bedtime was story time. Sometimes instead of reading a book, she liked to make up stories with her sons. This little story came from their imagination one year during the Christmas season and has always stayed with her as a sweet memory of a very special time with her sons. All those years ago Liz made a promise to herself that one day, if possible, she would find a way to put this little story down in writing as a gift to leave behind for her loved ones.
A long time dream now realized, Liz hopes that children and adults of all ages will enjoy this Christmas story for years to come.
