Dear parents:

Welcome to this new journey with “PortuLer - português para brasileirinhos longe do Brasil”. PortuLer has as objective to stimulate and strengthen the learning of the Portuguese language based on phonetics and to assist families that do not reside within Brazil.

The child will become familiar with the sounds of the words and, consequently, will improve her fluency in Portuguese.

The tables were meticulously created for complete and easy access, necessary for reading this and the subsequent books. The table named “sílabas” was organized in alphabetical order to facilitate practice and repetition. All tables are meant to facilitate learning the language in this unique format and are not to be considered standard linguistic curriculum.

Initially, the assistance of the parents or teacher will be essential to educational practices and application of the tables. We would like to emphasize encouragement, discussions of the scenarios, and practicing the phonetics of the words. The goal being to enhance the correct pronunciation of the vocabulary in Portuguese.

With repetition and dedication, the child will easily begin to independently dissect, articulate, and comprehend the terminology. Enjoy the experience together while your little Brazilian develops the passion for reading and verbally communicating in an authentic Portuguese style.

With the purpose to promote attention to detail and visual discrimination, you will find “mystery eyes” or hidden characters strategically placed throughout the many illustrations. All the best!
