Dina Mountney

Dina Mountney is a mother of two, a former flight attendant, and the author of several books for families raising autistic children. She holds a BA in the humanities and spent a decade flying long haul, meeting people from every walk of life. She speaks three languages and has also worked as a translator.

One of Dina’s sons is autistic, and that simple family fact set her on a long course of study. Although her degree is in literature, she has spent years immersed in psychology—reading widely in child development and behaviour science, taking practitioner-led courses, and learning from teachers, therapists, and fellow parents. Her work is evidence-informed and road-tested in real homes, blending clear language with small, repeatable routines.

Dina writes with a parent’s eye and a researcher’s care. Her aim is to give siblings a voice, help parents protect their own energy, and offer tools that make loud days kinder without turning family life into a project.
