Chris Thomas is a writer, speaker, and communication professional. He is the author of “Unexpected: The Backstory of Finding Elizabeth Smart and Growing up in the Culture of an American Religion” and has contributed to three other books, including “Behind the Drive: 99 Stories from the Life of an American Entrepreneur.”
Chris is the president of Intrepid (www.intrepidagency.com) and has more than 25 years of experiencing developing hundreds of PR campaigns and managing more than 300 issues and crises. He is most recognized for his work as the official publicist for Elizabeth Smart’s family during the 10-month period of her abduction and rescue. Chris later helped position Elizabeth as one of the leading child advocates in the United States.
Chris has been named one of the nation’s top crisis communicators by PBI Media, awarded seven Silver Anvils, the most prestigious PR honor, and is a recipient of the National Guard’s Minute Man Award. Under his leadership, Intrepid has been named Utah’s top public relations firm 16 times, including the past 13 years straight.
