Jonathan Bitz

Jonathan Bitz is a father, writer, and entrepreneur. He is the creator of Denver Syntax, a successful publication that he ran for 13 years, publishing everything from poetry and fiction to creative nonfiction. As a father, Jonathan firmly believes that it is the family’s responsibility to truly educate children. His desire to live an inspired life alongside his children led to the Creative Adventuring blog and lifestyle.

After a divorce, Jonathan wanted to open the world up for his children. Through trial and error, he approached their time together with the “Let’s go on an adventure” mindset. Ranging from visiting museums, exploring creeks, riding scooters, or even just walking through the park, these child-led adventures encourage curiosity, wonder, and engagement as they experience the world together.

Born in Colorado, Jonathan graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Philosophy and Education. Now, owning several small businesses with his father enables him to live the life he’s always wanted as Dad to Gemma, Silas, and Harlow — whom he considers his co-authors and daily inspirations for Creative Adventuring.
