Greg Waidmann

Greg Waidmann is an author, master storyteller, certified historical tour guide, and certified pirate history expert who believes history should never feel like homework—it should feel like an adventure.

After a successful 20-year career as a corporate executive, sales trainer, coach, and mentor, Greg traded the boardroom for the storyteller’s stage. He has guided more than 2,000 tours through historic St. Augustine, Florida, bringing pirates, explorers, shipwrecks, hidden treasure, and extraordinary moments from the past vividly back to life. He also shares his love of history as a destination speaker aboard American cruise ships.

Greg is the author of the children’s series The Adventures of Captain Bodie Brownbeard, created to inspire young readers through colorful characters, exciting pirate adventures, humor, history, and meaningful life lessons. His other books include A Piece of Pirate Treasure: Secrets from the Pirate & Treasure Museum and Better Tales—Better Tips, a storytelling guide for professional tour guides.

Drawing upon decades of experience in leadership, education, public speaking, and live storytelling, Greg created StoryNautics—Create Experiences, Inspire Minds—to help speakers and guides transform information into memorable experiences.

Whether writing for children, uncovering the stories behind remarkable artifacts, or speaking before a live audience, Greg has one mission: to make history exciting, meaningful, and impossible to forget.
