A life-long man of the American West, author Thomas Reed grew up fishing small streams from the ponderosa pine-clad mountains of Arizona to the lodgepole pine forests of Montana and many places in between. He is the author of several books and has been a long-time columnist for Wyoming Wildlife magazine, where his popular “Wild Country Dispatch” column has appeared for many years, and the quarterly magazine TROUT, which features his “Blue Lines” column in every issue. Among his several nonfiction books are Blue Lines, A Fishing Life; Give Me Mountains For My Horses; Great Wyoming Bear Stories; and a co-authored book on hiking and camping in bear country. He lives with his family on a ranch outside Pony, Montana.
