This memoir is Sherry Lewton's first literary publication, although the inspiration and preparation for writing it began over over 25 years before it was published, as thoughts, ideas, verses and quotes poured into her mind and heart throughout those years. There were numerous obstacles to overcome in opening up her heart to the freedom she needed to share so personally and openly of the events in her life, in both her childhood and in her marriage, inspiring her to write her memoir. But the desire to share her faith and the journey that she is still pursuing--that of overcoming selfish roadblocks hindering healing and wholeness--was too strong to allow shame and vulnerability to keep her from writing. Each person has a story to tell, but Sherry's prayer is for her story to offer hope to anyone who reads it who may find themselves in the 'fires' of life. She references many authors and sources to give her readers much-needed resources for their own healing process.
