Sheryll Putnam

I have been passionately in love with words since I was a very young girl. After struggling to learn how to read, a wonderful teacher named Ms. Taylor taught me how to read and I went from barely knowing my alphabet to reading on a fifth grade level in the second grade!

After that, I read everything and anything I could get my hands on! I worked my way through the children's section of the library on Osan Air Force base in the late eighties and saved all of my quarters from my milk money to order books from Scholastic. Maybe I didn't get very tall from skipping that milk, but my personal library grew and so did my passion for reading.

I have been teaching English Language Arts and Reading for over twenty years now. I love to write and have been writing short stories, poetry, plays and other genres since I was thirteen. I enjoy teaching writing to my students and hope to inspire in them the same love for words I have through my efforts in the classroom.

I enjoy art, painting, drawing, and leading our school's Drama Team in my spare time.
