Rita A. Popp writes light and twisty mysteries and other entertaining fiction. Her stories have appeared in various publications, including the Sisters in Crime anthologies Fish Out of Water and Fishy Business. She introduced amateur sleuth Bethany Jarviss in Stiletto Heels, a short story published in the e-zine Mysterical-E. She devised a trickier case for Bethany to solve in the novel, The First Fiancée: A Bethany Jarviss Mystery, and plans future mysteries starring this smart, gutsy gal. Her novelette, Passing on the Farm, a story of inheritance and romance, is part of The Wild Rose Press's new Jelly Beans and Spring Things series. Rita has been employed as a university writer and editor, community college instructor, and by three newspapers and a public relations agency. She has volunteered as a literacy tutor, literary journal staffer, and animal sanctuary writer and photographer. She sorts books donated by the public for her local library’s book sales and frequently “feeds” Little Free Libraries in her community. She and her husband live in Colorado and periodically travel to their mountain cabin in New Mexico. Those two states and Rita’s home state, Iowa, inspire much of her fiction.
