Tom Jenkins

The author has lived and worked among the Crow Indians of Montana for eighteen years. He and his wife are adopted members of the Tribe.

After moving to Montana, Jenkins had opportunity to become acquainted with and interview several descendants of those who actually fought in the Battle of the Little Bighorn. He has had the privilege of meeting relatives of Sitting Bull, as well as a number of relatives of Custer's Crow scouts including Goes Ahead, Whiteman Runs Him, Curley, White Swan and Hairy Moccasin, many with whom he has become good friends. He has also met relatives of Bloody Knife, an Arikara scout, said to have been Custer's favorite scout.
