In 2018, he launched Reconnect Earth, an environmental education organization focused on generating grassroots positive change.

Nick wrote Movement Makers: How Young Activists Upended the Politics of Climate Change to share the inspiring story of the U.S. youth climate movement with a larger audience. The second edition, detailing groundbreaking developments in the youth climate movement since the original Movement Makers came out, will be released in January 2024.
