I fell in love with the power of books when I was young. In high school, I tried my hand at writing and

enjoyed it so much that it became my major in college. Although I had other careers in my life, being an

author was always on my radar.

Finally, as a grandma and a retired empty nester, I took up writing again because I felt a calling to relay a

message to families struggling to have a sensitive and difficult discussion about losing a family member.

Although the death of a loved one in a child's life is overwhelming and heartbreaking, if handled with

care, it need not be traumatic. It can become a new beginning formed through acceptance and bring peace.
