Michael Raulin PhD

Dr. Raulin earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin and spent nearly 40 years teaching, conducting research, training graduate students, and providing clinical services. He spent 14 years directing the Psychology Services Center, a research and training clinic at SUNY/Buffalo. He also created and directed for 12 years the Anxiety Disorders Clinic within the Center. He has been a leader in more than a dozen professional organizations at the university, local, state, and national levels, has served on the editorial board of the most prestigious journals in his field, and has reviewed grants for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). He won nearly a dozen awards for achievement or service over his career.

Dr. Raulin has been writing textbooks since the 1980s. He is a co-author of a research methods textbook (now in its 9th edition) and the author of an abnormal psychology textbook. He has also published a book on being competitive in applications for graduate/professional schools and another book on managing one’s anxiety. He has published over 50 research articles or chapters in edited books. Finally, he has been an active Rotarian since 2004, serving as both his club president and the district governor.
